Bunny Tales

2007

Follow the white rabbit, and adventure awaits..

After spending time in Chicago amongst the urban rabbit population I became interested in rabbits as a metaphor for having adventures and telling stories.

Wooden rabbits were placed in different urban environments with a view to collecting memories and pooling the infinite personal stories of a cities population.

The rabbits were left in small but highly visible groups in Chicago and Hereford. Each rabbit was accompanied by information asking people to take them home. In return the participants were asked to e-mail back a dream along with a photograph of the bunny in its new environment. These stories form a collection of 'Bunny Tales'.

The piece provides a point of interaction between an artwork and the public and voice for the participating city.
